Shruthi Nandakumar is a senior at Rutgers University–New Brunswick, with a major in Cell Biology & Neuroscience and minor in Religion. She brings a strong interdisciplinary background that bridges scientific research, healthcare, and digital innovation.
Shruthi has worked as an Ophthalmic Technician, performing advanced diagnostic imaging and assisting in medical procedures in clinical settings. Her prior experience as a Medical Scribe and Assistant at CityMD strengthened her skills in patient assessment, EHR documentation, and clinical coordination in fast-paced environments.
In addition to her healthcare experience, Shruthi has contributed to education development as a Beta Tester for WGU Biology courses. She also taught piano privately for several years with a strong ability to design individualized learning programs.
At Rutgers, Shruthi was an active member of APSEA, where she was a Webmaster and supported event planning and managed social media outreach. Her passion for communication and science writing led her to volunteer as a journalist for The Examiner, a pre-health journal with two published articles.
She is passionate about integrating neuroscience, technology, and healthcare innovation to make meaningful contributions in the life sciences and research sectors.
