Internships at Agard Research Associates Inc. provide students and early-career professionals with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in research, organizational management, and policy development. Our internship program is designed to bridge academic learning with real-world applications, allowing participants to contribute directly to projects that support our mission of advancing education, research, and social understanding.
Interns work alongside ARA’s leadership and research teams in areas such as policy analysis, communications, digital archiving, nonprofit operations, and publication support. Depending on their academic or professional background, interns may assist with preparing research briefs, managing outreach initiatives, organizing data, or supporting the development of new reports and public materials. Each intern’s responsibilities are assigned based on their demonstrated interests and skill set to ensure a meaningful and educational experience.
Internship appointments may be part-time or full-time and can vary in duration depending on academic schedules or organizational needs. Remote and hybrid options are available for certain positions. Interns are provided access to ARA’s Microsoft 365 environment to support collaboration and participation in assigned projects. Internal accounts are the property of Agard Research Associates and must be used in accordance with established data protection and communication policies.
While internships are unpaid, they offer valuable professional development and the opportunity to build experience in nonprofit research administration, policy engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Interns may request a completion letter or reference upon the successful conclusion of their appointment.
To apply for an internship, please contact opportunities@agardresearchassociates.org with a short introduction, résumé or CV, and a brief statement outlining your interests and area of study or focus. Selected applicants will receive instructions for next steps and orientation materials.
