Elena Intveldt serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of Agard Research Associates, and as Director of New Jersey Historic Preservation Policy and Initiative. She is a public history practitioner whose work centers on archival preservation, exhibit development, and the translation of historical research for general audiences. She graduated summa cum laude from Georgian Court University in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and she served as President of the University's History Club. In the spring of 2026 she studied at the Sant'Anna Institute in Sorrento, Italy, in an international program covering art history from ancient Greece through the Renaissance as well as archaeology.

Since May 2025, Elena has served as a History Specialist at Monmouth Battlefield State Park. She organizes, catalogs, digitizes, and maintains the park's archival records and historical collections, work that has improved both the preservation of research materials and public access to them. She led the research, development, and curation of a permanent exhibit on Revolutionary War surgery and medicine, and she has researched, written, and designed educational brochures and interpretive materials for visitors. She also conducts genealogical and historical research using archival collections, military records, and historical databases, and she serves as a public history resource for visitors in person, by telephone, and in writing. Her exhibit work on the medical care of soldiers speaks directly to a question at the center of the organization's mission, which is what a society owes those who serve it, and it supports the dedicated educational track on veterans and military service.

In the fall of 2024, Elena served as an Administrative Assistant with the Coalition for Peace Action, a nonprofit organization based in Princeton, New Jersey. She managed correspondence, scheduling, and record maintenance, prepared professional communications with constituents, community partners, and government representatives, and assisted with the planning and coordination of organizational initiatives and advocacy campaigns. She brings comparable operational experience to her work at Monmouth Battlefield, where she coordinates large public programs and historical reenactments and manages event logistics, scheduling, and on-site operations. That combination of administrative discipline and public program management is well suited to the office of Secretary, which carries responsibility for the records, minutes, and corporate documentation on which the governance of a nonprofit organization rests.

As Director of New Jersey Historic Preservation Policy and Initiative, Elena leads the organization's work on the research supporting the preservation of the state's historical record and built environment. Her grounding in the humanities reflects the conviction on which Agard Research Associates is founded, which holds that questions of work, institutions, and citizenship are at root humanistic questions that cannot be answered responsibly without historical and moral seriousness. Her experience preparing interpretive materials for a general audience equips her to help the organization meet its commitment to producing work that is accessible to practitioners, policymakers, and the engaged public.
